Business Development Officer
Job Summary
Fastdel is a Pan-African social enterprise committed to helping communities break out of poverty by pooling resources together. As part of our pilot revolving fund for hustlers in Githurai, Roysambu, Kasarani, and Ruiru sub-counties, we are looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Officer. The officer will promote and grow our revolving fund by reaching out to small business people, boda boda operators, mama mbogas, salonists, employees in EPZs/organizations, and groups. The role will focus on customer recruitment, loan disbursement, repayment follow-up, and client retention. This is a growth opportunity for a passionate professional ready to scale the ladder of leadership within a start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Market and promote Fastdel’s revolving fund products in the target areas.
- Prospect and onboard new clients, ensuring accurate data capture and records.
- Design and execute strategies to achieve monthly loan disbursement and collection targets.
- Build, maintain, and retain strong relationships with clients.
- Conduct thorough business and home appraisals for loan applications.
- Reactivate dormant clients and encourage repeat borrowing.
- Monitor, demand, and enforce timely repayment of assigned loan portfolios.
- Track, follow up, and document all client interactions.
- Ensure loans are repaid on or before the due dates.
- Champion client retention, loyalty, and satisfaction.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Cooperative Management, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, Microfinance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or relationship management in SACCOs, MFIs, insurance, pension funds, or other financial institutions.
- Good understanding of SACCOs, microfinance, table banking, revolving funds, and credit operations.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales/loan targets.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Must be based in or willing to work within Nairobi along Thika Road (Githurai, Roysambu, Kasarani, Ruiru).

Remuneration
Approved commission structure plus a Ksh 10,000 retainer.
